Letora Anderson is a landscape architect, urban planner, and educator with a background in sustainable design, park master planning, comprehensive planning, and community development. She has taught as an Adjunct Assistant Professor within the Landscape Architecture Program at the University of Texas Arlington’s College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs since 2018.

Broadly, her research focuses on planning and design approaches that foster environmental reconnection, equitable engagement, and cultural community development in minority neighborhoods. Her current research examines issues of displacement and a lost sense of place in gentrifying communities and historically disinvested neighborhoods.

Letora has professional practice experience that includes the Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the Trails and Bikeways Master Plan for Allen, Texas, and the Parks, Recreation, Open Space Master Plan Plano, Texas. She has also worked in the public sector as the City Planner for the City of Greenville, Texas, where she managed the development of the city’s Greenville Forward Comprehensive Plan.
